Our Senior Stud Stallion – Lockinge Frederick (BCPS In-hand, and Ridden Premium stallion)

Lockinge Frederick Mr and Mrs Fred Atlantic Swirl (his sire) Premium Stallion

Frederick has been owned by us since he was six months old, when we purchased him from our good friend, the late Mrs Hester Knight. The old bloodlines at Lockinge disappeared on the death of our friend, and the stud nowadays concentrates on Irish ponies.

Fred has had many good offspring who have been successful at major shows, including Eastlands Burniebrae who won the Royal Dublin, Royal Show, and The Royal Highland Show; and Glendearg, who was selected for the Junior Canadian Dressage Team and was American Connemara Pony of the Year. Her full brother Eastlands Micklebrae won his class at the Royal International Horse Show in 2006.

In 2010 Fred’s “young” ponies managed to amass 6795 points in overall, and he was awarded his Ridden premium, to join the existing In-hand premium. Fred, although based in Scotland all his stud life, has managed to be in the top two of the Stallion Ratings for the past five years.

Fred is by the famous Atlantic Swirl (top right) who was one of the best of his generation owned by Miss Ginette Mason. Swirl’s three stallion sons have all been awarded premiums. He is out of the premium mare Faddiley Flora.
